Pre-study or basic internship

The ideal point of entry to study

The technical pre-study or basic internship is a prerequisite for acceptance onto many technical study courses and can be completed at our Volkswagen sites in Wolfsburg, Hannover, Braunschweig, Kassel, Salzgitter and Emden.

Your studies therefore start practically before the course starts

By acquiring basic technical knowledge (e.g. turning, milling, welding), you will be well prepared for courses in areas such as mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering. You can complete the pre-study internship with us both before commencing your studies and also as part of a bachelor degree programme until you have acquired 89 credit points.

Requirements

  • Technical course of study, for example mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering
  • Enrolment or confirmation from the university
  • Excerpt from the examination regulations, which shows that a basic internship (pre-study) is necessary
  • Very good grades in maths and physics

Working hours and remuneration

You will work for 35 hours over a 5-day week with us. The total duration of the internship is listed below for each site. The pre-study or basic internship is of course remunerated.

Would you like to apply to us for a technical pre-study or basic internship?
